Food Stores and Baked Potatoes

by Mikey @ GOODeOleBoy.com with 2 comments

In Fit2Fat2Fit: The Unexpected Lessons from Gaining and Losing 75 lbs on Purpose by Drew Manning, the author discusses how a supermarket is like a baked potato.

The outside “skin” of the store is where you will find your healthier choices like lean meats, fruits, vegetables and healthy dairies.

The “fluff”, or the inside aisles are where you find your less healthy choices such as your ice creams, sweets and quick fix dinners with all the MSG’s you could ask for…

Yes, there are healthy choices that can be made within the aisles of a supermarket, just like the middle of a baked potato is not all bad for you, but the majority of all things GOODe for you are on the outside lane of your store.

Check out the video Cris and I made while on our visit to Wal-Mart (where all us rednecks shop) and see what I mean…and how I discovered that even this particular potato came loaded with bad choices and accountability.

I’m thinking weight loss/healthier living would be a good one for myself as well. The baby weight is gone, but the weight I gained after Michael and I got married is definitely not. Ryder needs to grow up seeing Michael and I make healthy choices…now to find the willpower and energy!
