Dear Reader-
As week 1 comes to a close, I am a happy girl.
As many of you know, I have been trying to lose weight since way back in March when I and an unfortunate cupcake were outed in the most embarrassing way…
I don’t have any “starting” weight loss pics from March, but I think this image is pretty much me at my heaviest earlier this year…
Anyhoo, after cupcake-gate, I did GOODe there for a while, but the whole family wasn’t on board and my commitment waned and while I managed to lose almost 25 lbs at one point… it didn’t stick… well something stuck, but it wasn’t my resolve
.
Luckily though,– after all was said and done– I was able to start the Year 2 Change challenge with an 19 lb loss…
Not a bad jump start, but I still have a looong ways to go… which is what the challenge is all about
Week 1 brought a 2.2lb loss and a major overhaul in effort to get on track.
What I am feeling GOODe about this week?
I am feeling great about getting back on track with exercise. I feel oh-so much better and have a lot more energy.
I also have really gotten back into the swing of calculating the nutritional value of all our recipes on Lose It! and of course also recording my daily intake and exercise.
And the phones Verizon sent us make using Lose It! in the kitchen so easy.
We have been using the phones to scan everything in to get exact nutritional content of everything from snacks to our recipes. Which by the way, I will be posting on every recipe here and GOODEness Gracious over the next year.
Oh and one last thing I am feeling GOODe about? Chopping off my hair
What I want to improve on next week?
I really need to get back into the habit of drinking lots of water… versus next to none
.
I also really want to add yoga and weights back into my workout… versus all cardio this week.
What has inspired me this week?
To put it simply? YOU.
We have been so delighted to have so much support and notes of encouragement.
And for all of you that are committing to your own Year 2 Change… you are inspiring us to keep on keeping on!

Congrats! For a second I almost had a heart attack and thought you were saying you lost 22 lbs in one week and I was going to either a, knock some sense into you or b, ask – BEG – you to help me!
I’m psyched for you guys on your road to healthier ways! Congrats to the great start!

Oh goodness no! Ha! Nope, I have been messing around with it all year actually… but this whole thing has kicked us all into gear

I admire you for getting the whole family on board. I will be watching and cheering you on.
I also wan to lose weight this year. I have health issues that keep me from losing it quickly but am determined to keep working on it.

Keep at it! It will happen
