Sneaky Smores Sticks

I introduced you recently to Best Boy and Co’s family of  barbecue sauces.  Today I’m going to introduce you to their smokin’ hot sister, Hot Fudge Sauce -Spiced with Chilies-.

She’s sweet, she’s smooth and she has a fire about her you will fall in love with like I did.  The reason she’s so hot?  Chili de árbol added into the mix.  This is my first time to ever taste the combination of chocolate and peppers together…and I LIKE IT!  The heat from the pepper sneaks up on you after a few seconds of sweet enjoyment.  Kinda like a ninja…if he was on fire…and dipped in chocolate.  Unlikely scenario I know, but you get the point.

Cris and I have this little competition going to see who can make the better dessert.  She is using Best Boy and Co’s Caramel Sauce, probably to make something with apples or whatever.  I am going for a new spin on an old classic, SMORES!  I call them Sneaky Smores Sticks.

I attempted to toast my marshmallows before coating them in chocolaty graham cracker GOODeness, but it kinda flopped.  Ya see, there’s a burn ban in my neck of the woods due to the current drought, and if you saw the previous post you would already know that my grill ran out of gas.  I tried to get all McGuyver and use the broiler on our oven, but this is what happened…

Nine innocent marshmallows lost their lives that day in the name of food science (playing “Taps” in the background)

Turns out that the Sneaky Smores are just fine without toasting them (or melting them down for that matter)

You just take a pretzel stick and impale the marshmallows

Then after heating up your chocolate sauce, roll the marshmallow in the chocolate (if the heat from the peppers isn’t your first love you might only roll half the marshmallow in the chocolate…this stuff is pretty potent!)

Then roll your coated marshmallow in graham cracker crumbs!  Easy peasy lemon squeazy as my kid would say!

Now I was a fan of this stuff…my gals, not so much.  My wife isn’t all that into spicy stuff (excluding me of course) and my kid wasn’t too fond of Daddy’s treats either.  She chose just the marshmallows as they didn’t make her nose run.  I dig’em though!  I bet this chocolate sauce would be great on ice cream or in hot chocolate…time to get more sauce!!!

Thanks Best Boy and Co!!!

Great idea Mikey. The chili fudge sauce is really good with peppermint ice cream.
